The first summer Vegan Living Demo will focus on vegan baking techniques, and will include lunch.
Vegan cupcakes may have taken over the world, but not everyone is an instinctive baker! If you’ve ever wondered how to substitute eggs and dairy in a traditional recipe, or why apple cider vinegar seems to be in everything, this class is for you.
Participants will learn first-hand just how easy vegan baking can be, as Linda does the talking and Monika and Nina do the mixing. We’ve chosen two of the easiest, and most versatile, recipes we know: cupcakes and sugar cookies. We will also make buttercream-style frosting and a glaze. The best part of this class? We’ll have dessert to accompany our vegan lunch. Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge board member Linda Nelson is hosting this class in her home and will lead the demonstration, while Monika and Nina Caruso do her bidding.
This is a donation-based class, with a suggested donation amount of $30. Cash only, please. Monika and Linda will provide everything for the demo and lunch; participants need only bring their appetites!
Place: An e-mail will be sent out to participants prior to the event with Linda’s home address
Menu: Quinoa tabbouleh, creamy avocado potato salad, and kale salad. Please let us know if you have any food allergies when you sign up.
This class is full! Thanks to everyone for your interest and support.
