The spring Vegan Living Demo will focus on container and companion planting, and will include lunch.
Whether you have a studio apartment, a house in the suburbs, or a fifteen-acre lot, there are myriad things you can grow in containers. This hands-on class will show you how to make the most of your space to have a thriving indoor or outdoor container garden, and how to incorporate potted produce into existing gardens.
Participants will learn the advantages of container planting, as well as which plants can/should be paired together. Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge board member Linda Nelson is hosting this class in her home, and Monika Caruso will be leading the demo.
This is a donation-based class, with a small portion of the proceeds used to cover the cost of supplies. The suggested donation amount will be posted here at a later date. Cash only, please. Monika and Linda will provide the plants; each participant needs to bring a five-gallon pot and potting soil.
Place: An e-mail will be sent out to participants prior to the event with Linda’s home address
Menu: Vegan BBQ, including mac n’ cheese and slaw. Please let us know if you have any food allergies when you sign up.
